Eat Fresh, Eat Local

The warmer weather is on it's way and with it, the fresh produce.  Local fresh produce in particular has the optimal amount of nutrients - vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients since they are picked at its peak and available to you typically the same day or the next day.  There is limited time that the vegetable or fruit spends in a storage facility ripenining and being transported for weeks to get to the supermarket shelves.

Sweet Stevia!

So, what exactly is stevia? Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni, commonly known as stevia, is a herb native to Central and South America and has been used for centuries by natives as a traditional sweetener, added to herbal teas and other beverages. Today, the herb is also cultivated in Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and China.

Be sure to do your research before purchasing probiotics, to make sure you are choosing the category that is right for you!  And remember; just because a food or supplement claims to contain probiotics, does not necessarily mean that it is the appropriate kind for your particular need or condition.
